Tired of the same old boring workouts everyday, getting the same results?
Take the Iron Challenge!
What is the Iron Challenge?
The Iron Challenge is a different approach to working out. It transforms
every workout into a competition! You earn points based upon the weight
you lift and how quickly you can complete an assigned challenge. Points
are tallied up weekly and we keep track of who's winning on a weekly leaderboard
as well as having an All-Time Record board for the top performances of each workout.
What do the workouts consist of?
Each workout consists of a strength component and a challenge component.
Each workout begins with the strength component, which is a low rep, heavy
weight compound movement. It will either be a power clean, squat, bench
press or a variation of one of these movements (hang clean, front squat, incline
bench, etc.). Next comes the challenge component which will be a series of
sub-maximal lifts performed as quickly as possible in the shortest amount of
time possible (while maintaining full range of motion and proper form of course)
There are a total of 3 workouts per week.
Give me an example!
Strength - Bench Press 4 x 2
Challenge - Push and Pull
Here you would hit 4 sets of 2 reps on bench press. There is no time limit
during the strength part of the workout. You can take as much time as you
deem necessary in between sets. Your best set would then count towards
your point total for the day. Next would come the Challenge, in this
example it is the Push and Pull. The Push and Pull workout consists of
bench pressing your bodyweight 50 times and doing 50 pullups. This is done
for time. For every second you can complete this challenge under the
designated time (say 20 minutes) you will receive points.
The Bottom Line
The bottom line is this: working out using the Iron Challenge provides many
benefits.
1. Every day becomes a competition which leads to more intense workouts,
yielding better results.
2. By having a Strength component and Challenge component, you will get stronger
and get in better shape without having to go out and run laps around the
track or spend boring time on the treadmill.
3. Forget about the doing the same monotonous workout without any motivation
behind what you're doing. Every workout is different, with different
challenges that will constantly test you against yourself and your competitors.
